Standalone Tetramon
These Tetramon do not evolve in either direction. That is a normal part of the card pool, not missing data. 25 cards
How evolution works
In a duel, evolution is played with cards. It is not earned by winning matches, and it is not a permanent upgrade on one copy of a card.
- 1
Play the required Basic
Put the Basic Tetramon that starts the line into an Elemental Area.
- 2
A newly played Basic needs a turn
It normally cannot evolve on the turn it was played.
- 3
Stack the correct evolution card
The Evolution Card goes directly on top of the Tetramon it evolves from.
- 4
Chain further evolutions
Once a card is ready, more stages can follow in the same turn if you hold them.
When can a Tetramon evolve?
The rule that answers most “why can’t I evolve?” questions is the wait after a Basic is played.
Turn N
Play the Basic
The Basic is played and is not ready to evolve yet.
Next turn
It is ready
It has had its turn, so its evolution card can be stacked.
Same turn
Chain further
If you hold the next stages, they can follow in the same turn.
Can I evolve?
Pick the card on the field, when it was played, and what you are holding.
Not yet.
Amneshark was just played this turn. A newly played Basic needs to wait before normal evolution.
Quick Evolve and Instant Evolve effects are the exception to the wait rule. See the evolution effects below.
Check my evolution lines
See whether the deck you are building contains the stages it intends to use. This is evolution structure, not a legality ruling.
No deck yet. Build one and this panel checks its evolution structure automatically.
Cards that interact with evolution
These Play Effects change evolution timing or stop it. They are not part of the evolution graph itself.
Instant Evolve
3Evolve this Tetramon on the turn it is played if you have its evolution card.
Quick Evolve
2Evolve this Tetramon on the turn it is played.
Blocks Evolution
1Stops your opponent from evolving their Tetramon next turn.
The evolution graph says who evolves into whom. Evolution effects change when or whether that can happen — two separate systems.

Common evolution questions
How do I evolve a Tetramon?
Play the Basic Tetramon, wait until it is ready, then stack the correct evolution card directly on top of it.
Can I evolve a Tetramon on the same turn I play it?
Not normally. A newly played Basic needs a turn before normal evolution. Quick Evolve and Instant Evolve effects are the exception.
Can I evolve multiple times in one turn?
Yes. Once a card is ready, further stages can be stacked in the same turn if your hand holds them.
Does a card evolve after winning matches?
No. Evolution is played with the correct evolution card onto its required previous form. It is not a permanent level-up system.
What does Pigni evolve into?
Burpig. Pigni is the Basic of a four-stage Fire line.
View Pigni →Which cards are final evolutions?
Use the Final stage filter in the explorer above. Every match is a card whose evolution line ends there.
Open the card database →Which cards are standalone?
The Standalone filter lists every Tetramon with no verified evolution in either direction. It is normal for a card to work on its own.
Are foil or Ascension versions separate evolution cards?
No. Prints belong to the same canonical monster, so evolution and deck rules use the canonical card, never a specific finish.
